Hi Jen, I have two questions. 1. Does Temple play more man to man or zone defense? 2. How are the Hartford players feeling? A little butterflies or getting down to business? Good luck on Sunday, looking forward to being there to cheer the team on. Jeff
Question to the coach - how much man-to-man does Temple employ in its game? How will you respond to that if they use it?
Unfortunately, ESPN is showing the Cal Women out here, so I will of course tune in Jon via my daughter's PC. We also will follow West Virginia for my son-in-law, and both UCONN games for my daughter (UCONN '91).
I wish all the players & coaches good luck & the fans in attendance GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw this article in the South Idaho Press, and as I have been so impressed with the quality of player and person that Jen has been bringing into the program, I was just curious how the recruiting trail has taken her to Idaho?

OAKLEY - Oakley's Jenna Peterson isn't done with her basketball career just yet.
The South Idaho Press learned Tuesday the Oakley senior will sign a national letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Hartford, beginning next fall. Peterson verbally committed to the Connecticut school Monday and will sign her letter of intent later this month.
Apparently, the 5-foot-10-inch Oakley post made her decision following a recent recruiting trip.
“A lot of it was the coaching staff,” Peterson said of her decision. “They have a great coaching staff, and the girls are really nice.”
Peterson had also been recruited by Franklin Pierce College, out of New Hampshire, and Converse College in South Carolina.
Davenport College, out of Michigan, appeared to be the leading contender to land Peterson's services as recently as two months ago. However Davenport, for reasons unknown, backed out at the last minute.
Peterson will be taking her game from her small hometown of Oakley to being on the verge of big-time Division I basketball. The Lady Hawks (26-3, 15-1) are coming off a 75-56 win over Boston University this past weekend to claim the American East Conference tournament title and a spot in this weekend's women's NCAA tournament.
Hartford, a No. 11 seed, will face Temple in an opening-round game this coming Sunday in the Syracuse region.
The Lady Hawks are coached by former University of Connecticut and WNBA star Jennifer Rizzotti.
Peterson knows playing for a coach of that caliber is only going to help her.
“It's limitless,” the Oakley senior said.
Peterson's role with the Lady Hawks will likely be pretty limited during first year, but she is already working toward her sophomore season.
“I plan to work a lot this summer,” she said. “So I can play my sophomore year.”
But when Peterson does get on the court, she will likely be playing on the wing with the possibility of posting up.
“I will be a big outside player,” Peterson said of her role. “I will have the option of posting up if there is a big mismatch.”
And those close to Peterson are also excited for her.
“I'm very excited,” said Oakley girls basketball coach Brett Graham. “She has worked hard in her four years in our program. I don't think people realize how big of a deal it is.”
In her final year at Oakley, Peterson averaged 19.2 points per game in 23 games. She also led the Lady Hornets to their third consecutive state tournament appearance.
At Hartford, she plans to major in landscape design with a minor in business.
What is your main recruiting philosophy? Obviously whatever it is has been extremely successful. Also I am very impressed that you have been able to secure a lot of the best Connecticut talent. Looking forward to see Etienne play next year as well.
Good luck tommorrow Hawks!!!
