NCAA Chronicles 9

Well, game time is nearing and the excitement is building. The team had a shoot around at Sovereign Arena at 11 a.m., will have the traditional pre-game meal at the hotel at 3 o'clock and then head off to the arena once more at about 4:45 p.m. The game will once again be televised in and around the Hartford area on ESPN2. Those living in other states will see some of the game as the coverage whips around between different contests. However, those living in the immediate areas of other teams playing will be seeing their local schools' games in their entirety. Most notably, St. John's is playing Maryland at the same time, so any of you in the New York City and D.C. regions will be seeing that game from buzzer to buzzer. But, wherever you are in the world, you can log on to wwuh.org and listen to the live radio broadcast beginning at 6:30 p.m. Locally, the game airs on 91.3 FM.

Thanks to all of you who are reading and submitting comments to the Hawks Hoop-Blog. We are hearing from so many different people from all parts of the world. We will now hand this over to all of you until the Hawks return to campus mid-day Wednesday. So, feel free to reply to this post and share your thoughts tonight.

In the meantime, I can tell you that the comments you posted after the Temple game have been printed out and given to the coaching staff.

Enjoy the game. Whether you are in your living room or in the Sovereign Bank Arena, be loud and proud. Your voice can rest tomorrow.

Just wanted to say you are doing a great job with this blog Jon. It makes for a nice break from work.

Also wanted to let the Hawks know that despite the fact we won't be in Trenton cheering them on to victory like we did on Sunday (thanks Kris!) we will be cheering them on from our living room (darn work). The players and coaches have done an amazing job this year and we are so proud and so very happy for them that they attained their goal of winning a NCAA tournament game. We know that they aren't done yet and I look forward to taking photos of them from the court at the Bridgeport Arena next weekend! Btw, photos from Sunday's game should be up on the website late (late) tonight.

GO HAWKS!

To everbody working hard to give us a great win tonight: Thank you for making our stay in West Hartford so memorable. Ever since we arrived from Nazareth, Israel to study at the University of Hartford, we have been following your news, cheering you at games, and enjoying the wonderful spirit of the team. We are so proud to have joined the University of Hartford at this time of its glorious history. We are all going to be cheering you tonight from our home. Our heart will be with each one of you as you prepare for the big win.

Jen, the coaches and mostof all the team--
You really outdid yourselves. The play in the first half was outstanding - your alumni couldn't be more proud of you. The team really put on an exhibition in great basketball. Georgia maybe had more talent but did not have more heart than the Lady Hawks. Keep up the good work and we will see you on your return to campus with a hero's welcome. Thanks for the memories. Remember, next year is right around the corner. GO HAWKS AND SOAR!!!

Jen - Congratulations to you, your staff, and the whole team. I can actually tell you that I was never more excited to watch a basketball game than seeing Hartford play Georgia. With no disrespect to UCONN, it was the Hawks that had everyone rooting like maniacs last night. You can all be so proud of your accomplishments all season long. Now go and celebrate!!!

To Jen and her staff and her team,

Thanks for a tuly magical season. It was clear to everyone (including Georgia) that you gave it eveything you had, right up to the final buzzer. It is amazing the heights that you have taken this team to.
To the seniors - Erika, Wex, Jess & Jenna -- you have our undying gratitude for setting a standard that incoming classes will have to work their butts off to match!
Nancy & I are so very proud of this Hawk team and all that it has accomplished! We love you girls so much! (We're already getting psyched for next season!)
