Good Morning Faculty and Staff

Welcome back after a very exciting weekend in the history of the University of Hartford. Feel free to reply to this post if you wish to share your thoughts. We'll print them out and let the coaching staff and players know what all of you are feeling back on Bloomfield Avenue. In the meantime, it's Hartford and third-seeded Georgia Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Trenton. Howie's flapping his wings. The Hawks are one win away from the Sweet 16.

Congrats Hartford Hawks. Excellent defensive game plan and execution inside. Yesterday I saw a much improved team (compared to last year when you played RU in the first round).
Good luck against Georgia.

To Jen & The Team;

Congratulations!!!! An amazing win!! The pride we feel here in Hartford, and particularly for those of us in Hillyer, is spectacular. Thank you.
Meanwhile, a funny story, we are cutting away the lockers in Hillyer Hall while you are in Trenton. We came across a locker that had a VHS tape in it. Who knew what would be on it or for how long it has been in there? Well, it was a video of Danielle Wexler's freshman speech class and her explaining how to dribble and shoot a basketball!!! Very convincing. Based on her performance, I would say A+ on and off the court!!

What a great feeling it is to be a HAWKS fan today! Nancy and I are so very proud of all that Jen, her coaching staff, and this wonderful group of young women have accomplished! The pride we feel at seeing Erika, Ikea, Danielle, Wex, Jess and the freshmen take on all comers with no fear at all is amazing! This is a wonderful ride that ain't over yet. Let's Go Hawks! Beat Georgia!

My 16 year old son and I go to all Hartford games in Jersey...I think he's even become a bigger fan than me, if that's possible.

We were there yesterday and we'll be there tomorrow.

Incredible coaching job and game plan...and next we certainly want to beat any team that barks instead of cheering.

Go Hawks!

Jen

My wife and I watched you play when we were grad students at UConn.

We are very happy that you are enjoying some considerable success while building a winning program at UHartford.

We are now in Japan so we'll keep track of y'all on the Net.

Good luck over Georgia. We want to see you make it to the Sweet 16.

Enjoy the win.

Hey ladies, amazing win yesterday. You out hustled and the Owls. Those two back door layups were just sick in the beginning moments of the first half by Danielle Hood. I was like I can't believe they allowed them to run that play again and score, with ease no mind you.
It was great a great atmosphere at the SBA yesterday, I enjoyed the game.
WAY TO SHOW THE NATION YOU LA DIES CAN PLAY (WELL YOU LADIES KNEW THAT ALREADY).
BUT I DO HAVE TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO IKEA WITT AND ERIKA MESSEM. WAY TO SHOW THE NATION SOUTH JERSEY HAS TALENT. KEEP MAKING SOUTH JERZ PROUD.
BEST OF LUCK AS YOU MAKE YOUR WAY THROUGH THE TOURNEY.

Congratulations Lady Hawks. I just wish I was still down in that area recruiting for the University so I could have swung by for the win. This is great. Fantastic!

My wife and I went to the game yesterday and it was the most proud I have ever felt in my 20+ years of being a Hartford alum.

It was awesome that the fans supported the team so well....this is a tribute to the coaching staff and the players. They have made this women's basketball team really special and one that more fans should jump on board.

Congrat's & lets get this win so we can meet UConn in the sweet sixteen!!

I am SOOO proud to be a Hartford alum today!

Seeing all the media coverage, etc is helping put us on the map.

What Rizzotti and her amazing coaching staff has done is sheerly remarkable.

Aside from the excellence the players have strived for, they look like they are having fun, playing as a team, and rooting for one another. I would be proud to hire some of these girls for my company after they graduate.

From the President of the University & AD,down to the coaching staff & the players, your representation of this University makes this alumni VERY proud!

Congrat's and lets hope this is the start of years of even greater success.

To Coaches and Player and support staff,
CONGRATULATIONS. I can't explain how exited I was to come home from coaching my daughters game to turn the TV on and find Hartford up 4 points with only 1 minuted to go. I started yelling and dancing around the house. My husband and kids didn't know what was going on and thought I had gone crazy. Its great to see how far the coaching staff and players have come. I know it didn't come without alot of hard work and dedication. You deserve all the praise and compliments that are coming in. Good luck with Georgia, and I look forward taking my girls to see the team play in Bridgeport.

You can not see enough examples better than this on how a program can excel based on smarts and hard work by the coaching staff and a dedication to learn, work hard and enjoy the game like the Hartford players.

I am so proud to be alum of 1984. An amazing moment was being in a crowd of screaming Hartford fans! Other than when the Chase Arena opened ,have I seen Hartford fans as "into" the game.

Thank you President Harrison for being proactice in regards to the Hartford athletic program as well as being a presence at the events, and a great figurehead.

Thank you Pat Meiser-Mcnitt for having the smarts to hire someone like Jen Rizzotti and the other recent coaching hires that are seemingly excellent.

Thank you Jen Rizzotti for the excellence and sheer dedication you bring to your program. You have recruited girls who are an excellent representatives of Hartford and good team players. Also thank you for hiring a coaching staff who is obviously second to none.

Thank you Hartford women players for showing what it takes to succeed at this level while not forgetting to show your enjoyment in the process. You girls have made many of us proud!!

Thank you fans for showing your support in the program...lets try to get more fans(alumni, students, faculty, community) involved. They do not know what they are missing!

Thank you pep band, howie & cheerleaders for bringing your incredible spirit to Trenton!

I am very proud to wear RED this week! Lets beat Georgia so we can make the Arena in Bridgeport a see of RED on Sunday against UConn!

Congratulations!!! As an Alumnus of UHar, I am very pleased and proud of the Hawks. I am particularly proud because I have followed the UConn women for years and have enjoyed their excitement and during Jen Rizotti's years as a UConn player. I hope their miraculous year continues. It would probably be too much to ask that UHar and UConn meet for that final NCAA game, but it sure would be FUN!!!

You made us all very proud to be University of Hartford alumni and Hawks fans. Keep playing with heart, spirit, and as a team with multiple talents.

Disappointed not to get to the game in person, especially since I've been to most of the home games, but watched every minute at home. I made just as much noise as I do at games.

Dear Players and Coach,

I only got to watch the final seven minutes of the Temple game but I was deeply impressed and moved by what I saw, and even called up a Chicago friend of mine so he could enjoy the action.

I was never enough of a player or a fan to appreciate the thought that goes in to making a game plan, but I am sure it was an important part of your victory. Also the long hours of practice and stamina workouts are somewhat hidden in the final result. But the skills of the players, the fancy layups and snazzy dribbling, were evident even to me. And above all, everyone could see the strength of heart, the will to win, even when legs are weary and breath is short. Coming back from a tied game. Literally coming off the floor.

Best wishes for tonight's game.

Sincerely yours,
Diego Benardete
