Hawks to Meet Syracuse on Saturday

Well, the lesson always is the same: never know what to expect come Selection Monday. Despite a weaker-than-normal America East conference in 2007-08, which led to a steady RPI decline for the Hawks after January, the committee rewarded the Hawks for a road-heavy, difficult non-conference slate. Especially appealing was 17-point victories over two teams in the RPI top 30 (Virigina, Marist). With additional wins against Michigan State and St. John's, the Hawks had four victories this season against teams with a 55 RPI or better. That was enough of a selling point to get Hartford its best seed ever at number 10 in the Oklahoma City regional.

The Hawks meet Syracuse in Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations Hawks on an awesome season - you are the best! It's exciting to again be in the tournament and to have the national attention (especially with the #10 seed). Best of luck with SU - know that your Hartford fan base will be cheering you on. Good luck in the big dance!

It was a nice surprise to see the Hawks get the #10 seed!! I'd say that we have a great shot taking on Syracuse.

I see that they have an RPI of 26, but I didn't get a chance to see them on TV. Can you tell us what style of play we can expect from Syracus?

Go Hawks!!!

We're so excited for all, but especially for the girls. Hope they leave at a time when we can give them a proper send-off.
