NCAA Chronicles 9: Bringing History Home

Tied in the second half of a game with the winner going to the Sweet 16. Even the last chapter in this storybook season was thrilling. The team had one final dinner last night at TGI Fridays, if you can call a meal close to midnight dinner. The bus departed this morning just after 10 and arrived back at the Sports Center at 1:30. Ready to greet the bus were the same dedicated group of fans that have played a part in this special season.

What a few days it has been. However, this is far from the last post. Check back during the next week for more reflections and news. Of course, feel free to keep your comments coming. The diversity and number of comments posted over the past six days has helped all of us realize what we have here.

Stay tuned.

I wish I knew when the bus was coming back, we would have been there to applaud our Lady Hawks! What a great season, we'll miss our seniors but I can't wait until next season. High fives to all the players. I hope to see you all at the Deli !!!

Whew, what a run!!! So happy that myself and my wife could have been a part of it all. From the crowds at the sports center for the BU game, to those fans who followed the team the Trenton. The players and coaches gave us so much to cheer about.

With this new Blog thing ( fairly new to me ) so many new fans and other old ones could follow and send well wishes to the Hartford Hawks. It was amazing to see where fans were writing from.

What excitement when we beat Temple. If you thought it was great sitting in the stands, it was even better on the floor. The Georgia game had the same feeling. Ok, the scoreboard said we lost, but the Hartford fans want to disagree.

What a wonderful feeling the players gave to all of us, when they came over and applauded the fans. When the bus arrived at the school today, there was a group of fans and cheerleaders to welcome the team back. We won some wonderful memories and still more to come.

Hey Jon, thanks for the blog. By the way, that's a good photo of you, do you know who the photographer was..... THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES........Jeff

We could not ask for a better season - who would ever thought we would be tied to a top seeded team come half time. Jen and all her gilrs should be so proud of themselves. Did Wexler break the 3 point record with her last 2 3's?

Jen is an amazing coach, she is really going to take Hartford places and I am happy that she extended her contract. She is such a role model to people - she is a great coach but also a family person.

Great job Hawks!
Joanne
