Victory

What an emotional, hard-fought game. The Hawks victory was their second NCAA Tournament win ever and set a school record for victories with 28. Now it's on to the Round of 32 and a matchup with second-seeded Texas A&M on Monday evening. The team headed back to the hotel after the game, got about 45 minutes to unwind, and then headed off to dinner at a local restaurant known for its ribs. The large group, including University President Walter Harrison and officials from the America East Conference, erupted every time the big screen showed highlights from the Hawks' win. Some players went back to the Pete Maravich Center to watch the two night games, while others went back to the hotel. The Hawks will sleep well tonight. Thanks for all your comments. Please keep them coming. Happy Easter.

As an alum of 1984 you all have made me so proud. From President Harrison who has been an advocate of the Hartford sports programs,Pat Meiser who had the foresight to hire Jenn, Jenn and her staff, and the players. The players year in and year out have made us so proud as their outstanding performance on the court is matched by their equally outstanding performance off the court. You guys continue to put Hartford on the map! Congratulations and good luck on Monday.

Hmmm....I have a sneaking suspicion that people are asking A&M the same thing about UTSA/Hartford! Well done, Hartford Women! You make us proud to be wearing the Red and White. The Pep Band, Cheerleaders and Hartford Fans in the Arena might be the only other Hawks that can been seen (& heard), but rest assured that we represent the countless others who couldn't make it down to Baton Rouge. GO, HAWKS!

Congratulations Ladies, coaches, and all Hawks supporters! I hope you are enjoying the adventure.
Hartford Courant sports section coverage has been great this weekend, which is encouraging for us hometown fans.

As you may have heard, the much awaited UH campus lecture tonight by Azar Nafisi (author of "Reading Lolita in Tehran) was cancelled today...due to illness, not to our need to be home in front of the televisions when you appear tonight!

I'm a native Texan, but there's no question I'm all for the Hawks tonight! Fly high and savor the moment...
